Hello everybody, and welcome to my new project. The basic idea is that I will be following two games of Diplomacy that I am currently involved in, explaining what's going on, why and how. If you are unfamiliar with the game of Diplomacy, click here. That link will provide both the full rulebook, as well as an abbreviated version. I would recommend reading the full rules, as it will make everything I say much easier to understand. In addition, that link will provide you with the Diplomacy Map.
Ok, why do I call this site “Truth, Lies, and Rumor?” Because that is Diplomacy in a nutshell. The game is won and lost based on the use (and misuse) of those three things. A savvy player knows when and how to use all three.
I will be writing about my exploits over the course of two games that I am presently playing. I will try to update the site as often as possible, so as to provide you with the most complete understanding of what is going on in the game, and in my head.
